[The laughter, it feeds him. He's like a horrifying monster in his own right - the dreaded Teenager.]
I don't know, that's a lot of denials right there... so if I remember being your age and awkward correctly, there's probably a girl or two you've got your eye on, but you're too nervous to say anything.
[He stretches a bit - he does feel a bit bad about that. He can relate, at least.]
[Hey, there's a reason zombies are often mistaken for them. Truly the Teenager is a horrible creature.]
Well, sort of. Kind of, but either way it's not like I can actually do anything about it and if I did it'd just get weird. She's like... super awesome and amazing and I'm just... me.
[Yosuke allowed himself to slide off the edge of the bed so he was seated on the ground with his back resting against it. That way, the mattress could cushion his head as he looked up quietly for a moment. Why was he prodding? Why not leave well enough alone? But he knew why. It was a simple reason, really.]
Yeah, I guess I don't know you well enough yet to tell you how awesome you are or anything. Take it from me, though.
[There's no one to blame but himself - he's the one that brought it up, after all. So as much as his instinct is to try and hide it, why bother? Might as well be as honest with the kid as he can be.]
Yeah, pretty much. I never said anything to the girl I liked, and then she died.
[He chuckles - one of those low ones that means anything but humor.]
It was a pretty crappy way to learn a lot of lessons at once.
Alright, so there's a long explanation, but the way it works is pretty simple. Check it out!
[ He sticks his hand in and it goes like normal- except there's a weird yellow glow coming from it and it doesn't feel quite right. He withdraws his hand quickly, confusion on his face. ]
[ That's a lot of questions! But he focuses on the last for the time being. ]
I know it's all technically the same world, but it feels different over here. And there's no glow like that back home. I guess that could make sense though? It's not like this world is the same everywhere.
[Suddenly this seems bad. Really, really bad. Glowing things are usually a bad sign and things that glow yellow are even worse. His stomach sinks, his face going pale as he grabs Yosuke's arm to pull him away from the TV.]
I don't think it's a good idea to try that again. Things are... different here and if you're saying it doesn't feel right and that the glow isn't normal I... I don't think I trust it.
[ Dipper seems spooked now and that's hardly a good sign, so he puts on a brave face and a smile.]
Hey, it's fine. I'd have to be crazy to try and go in from here. There probably isn't an exit on the other side, and even though I'm tough it'd still be too risky without support. I'm curious, but I'm not crazy.
[He's not used to talking about this so freely, and it likely shows on his face, but it's actually a nice change of pace. He can get everything off his chest and not feel like a loony for once!]
Yeah, though you need to be smart about it. Bigger TV's are better because it's easier for your entire body to fit through, and we always use the same TV so we know where we'll wind up on the other side. I was going through when I wound up here, so it's the only explanation that makes sense to me.
... well, as much as any of this makes sense, I guess.
[He laughs at that. There's still a twinge of nervousness to it, but it's more in that "YEP WEIRD STUFF SURE DOES HAPPEN HERE ALL THE TIME AND IT'S KIND OF CRAZY" way.]
Yeah, there isn't much that makes sense in Gravity Falls.
[But now he's thinking about it. The TVs, that is.]
But why wouldn't there be an exit? How do you get out normally?
[And then a beat as he once again notices the look on Yosuke's face.]
... You're not really used to talking about this openly, are you?
[There's nothing Yosuke can do but laugh - he's been caught red handed.]
I've never really met anyone else who would believe me, aside from my other friends who can pass through. So it's all a little weird, in a good way.
As for the exit... well, truth be told, we got really lucky the first time we went in. We met someone on the other side who could make the way out, but it was a real one-in-a-million sort of thing. If that hadn't happened, we probably would've been stuck and wound up dead.
[It really makes them sound like idiots now that he says it out loud.]
no subject
Who, me? No, no, no. No girlfriend.
[Really burying his face in that journal now, lowering his voice as he rambles on.]
It's not like girls would be interested in someone as nerdy as me, right?
no subject
I don't know, that's a lot of denials right there... so if I remember being your age and awkward correctly, there's probably a girl or two you've got your eye on, but you're too nervous to say anything.
[He stretches a bit - he does feel a bit bad about that. He can relate, at least.]
For what it's worth, some girls get into nerds.

Well, sort of. Kind of, but either way it's not like I can actually do anything about it and if I did it'd just get weird. She's like... super awesome and amazing and I'm just... me.

Yeah, pretty much. I never said anything to the girl I liked, and then she died.

Oh man, I'm... I'm sorry I didn't mean to...
[He bites his lip. What do you even say to that?]
no subject
It's alright man, you didn't know. You just found me face down in the forest because some stupid worm pulled me out of the TV, so it's fine.
no subject
no subject
Want me to show you?
no subject
[He grins, sliding off the edge of his bed with excitement.]
That'd be awesome, yeah!
no subject
I can't completely show you, that'd be way too dangerous. But I can at least show you how it works, I guess.
So, uh... where's your TV?
no subject
[and down the stairs he goes!]
no subject
Alright, so there's a long explanation, but the way it works is pretty simple. Check it out!
[ He sticks his hand in and it goes like normal- except there's a weird yellow glow coming from it and it doesn't feel quite right. He withdraws his hand quickly, confusion on his face. ]
That was weird...
no subject
Woah! That's so cool! How does it work? Can you stick more than your hand in there? What about your head? Can you fall in?
[It's only now that he looks up that he notices the teenager's confusion.]
... Weird how?
no subject
I know it's all technically the same world, but it feels different over here. And there's no glow like that back home. I guess that could make sense though? It's not like this world is the same everywhere.

[He seems to relax a little now that Yosuke said he wasn't going to tempt fate, so he takes this as an opportunity to ask some more questions.]
So, you can actually go all the way in? Is that how you ended up going through the wormhole worm's wormhole?
no subject
Yeah, though you need to be smart about it. Bigger TV's are better because it's easier for your entire body to fit through, and we always use the same TV so we know where we'll wind up on the other side. I was going through when I wound up here, so it's the only explanation that makes sense to me.

Would you have been in trouble because you were stuck or... or is there other stuff to worry about in there other than finding a way out?
