[Shinra hadn't been surprised to see Shizuo at his doorstep again. With the bartender's other job, injuries were quite common, though Shinra wished Shizuo would come straight to him when he did get wounded. Half the time Shizuo would come with an already infected cut. Did he honestly not notice those injuries, or did he just want to cause Shinra more difficulty?

Either way, the doctor was spending a little more time than usual on the gash in Shizuo's arm, and he didn't hesitate to let Shizuo know that this displeased him.]

Honestly, Shizuo, I don't know how you keep getting so beat up. You'd think by now that those thugs wouldn't be able to get a single punch in!

[There aren't many Puella Magi that can keep up with Kyoko, let alone any humans. So, to get in a fight with a bartender (or whatever this guy is,) is a rare treat. She can't even remember how it started--some petty argument some off-handed comment, or she just might have accidentally lifted something off of his person.

They're probably both already beyond their limits (she can't remember the last time somebody managed to scrape her this badly,) but who would let a thing like that stop them? Right now, her spear, broken down into linked segments, is wrapped around his torso. He's caught in the scorpion's tail.]

[Somehow, Shizuo has found himself helping a 13 year old girl with her homework!

However it happened, she's sitting next to him, with a textbook on the table. For such a young girl, she's fairly independent--intelligent and quiet, not phased in the least by his brusque attitude. Occasionally she'll speak up, however, asking him what a word means or for help with a math problem (a weak point, really.)]

...I don't understand this one.

Kida’s normally the type to keep his head down when someone as strong--and volatile--as Shizuo is around, addressing him politely and only when absolutely necessary. Which...it isn’t ever, really. Part of him (a crazy, half-suicidal part) has always wanted to chat with him a bit about how much Izaya sucks and what they should do to him if they ever catch him and get the chance, but bringing up Izaya around Shizuo is Probably Not A Smart Move especially since, depending on the canon point he’s from, Kida might be working for Izaya LIKE A MORON wtf dude.

[WELL, it... could be worse.

Like, dead or hospitalized worse. Or even his parents find out worse. Well, the last of these will probably happen, anyway, so -- okay, yeah, today sucks someone kill him now please.

Or maybe that's not the wisest wish to make when you're currently sharing a jail cell with Heiwajima Shizuo.

In Mikado's literal defense, he hasn't done anything wrong; nothing except being approached by a couple of thugs in the park. They seemed to know him, and midway through their threats to kick him around, his phone started going wild. It escalated too fast after that: people he didn't know suddenly intervened, more threats were thrown, then fists, and then a full fight broke out then and there. The police were on-site before Mikado could bolt, and he was rounded up with everyone else at the scene and brought downtown.

He didn't notice when or how Shizuo got caught up in it -- not until people started flying -- but the cop who brought Mikado in must be new in town, since he didn't see any issue with putting a kid in the same cell as the man in the bartender suit... even though every other cell is overpacked, likely for the reason of keeping said man isolated.

So Mikado just sits in his far corner, on the far end of the little bench, taking up as little space and being as out-of-the-way and un-agitating as possible as he thinks over what happened and his impending doom via parents.]

[Celty had shown up a little past seven in the evening, just in time to defuse the ticking time bomb that was Shizuo. Her presence was just enough to snap him out of his blind rage for a moment and thus it was just enough to stop him from sending some poor sap from flying into the side of a building. If the terrified look in the guy's eyes while Shizuo had him lifted off the ground by the collar of his shirt was any indication, he was pretty sure the guy had learned not to fuck with him.

Celty told him there was something she wanted to ask him about so he took the helmet she materialized for him without question and hopped onto the back of her bike. They were just going to the park, but they seemed to be taking the long way around (he had a feeling it might have had something to do with the blaring cop sirens he heard a few blocks over).

When they arrive at their destination, Shizuo slides off the back of the bike, looking at her out of the corner of his eye while he lights a cigarette.]

Cops still giving you grief, huh?
