[She speeds up a little to catch up with him, waking beside him with her hands folded behind her head.]

You're not half bad, y'know. Not as good as me, of course, but you don't run home crying like most of the losers I gotta put up with.

[That's as close to a compliment as you're getting, Shizuo.]

[He snorts derisively.]

[She holds out a box of pocky.]

[He looks down at the box, shrugs his shoulders and takes one, nodding in thanks.]

Yeah, sure. Thanks.

[prayed]

[She pulls out a stick for herself, clenching it between her teeth before stuffing the box back into her pockets. She talks around it.]

So like, does this place have a high suicide rate or see a lot of murders or something? This place is packed to the brim with malice, y'know. More than any city I've been to. It's weird as Hell.

[Of course, by "malice" she means "Witches." Not that she can complain, since it benefits her--she could get fat off of the Witches here.]

[nonviolence]

[He shakes his head a little, making quick work of the stick of pocky before taking a long, slow drag on his cigarette.]

This city's got it's fair share of color gangs, scumbags, and then some. If you're new in town like you said you are, you probably haven't heard of it, but up until recently there's been a bunch of attacks by this guy everyone's been calling the Slasher.

You're kidding me, right? The Slasher? That sounds like something out of a low-budget horror movie, y'know.

[nonviolence]

[It doesn't and he's not.]

[He succeeds in shoving her right into a building. She recovers within seconds though, falling back into step with him with a slight shrug. For as much as she wants to make another smart remark, she's pretty sure she's not allowed to start two fights with him in one day.]

She rubs her arm, shooting him an annoyed look.]

[She can't help but smile at that. Shizuo, you're shaping up to be her kind of guy.]

[A slight, amused smirk pulls at his lips.]

You're lucky I didn't shove you through the wall.

[prayed]

[shizuo please.]

Like I'd let you.

Yeah, whatever. You just keep telling yourself that.

[nonviolence]

[He's completely silent, but the change in the atmosphere around him speaks volumes. He rips a chunk of the guardrail out of the ground and hurls it at her face.]

[prayed]

[It's probably fortunate that his silence acted as something of a warning, otherwise it probably would have. As it is, she catches it with one hand, raising an eyebrow at him.]

...really?

[What a baby.]

[nonviolence]

[Yes, really. He doesn't say anything, just keeps walking and quietly seething.]

[prayed]

[Talk about your overreactions. She rolls her eyes, but walks alongside him, pulling out another piece of pocky.]

You really need to lighten up, y'know.

[She snaps off a bite, stuffing one hand into her pocket.]

You keep getting worked up like that and your heart's just gonna give out one of these days.
