[The fact that he’s even in this situation speaks to how bad his luck stats are, but he’s not totally screwed, surprisingly enough. Because ever since Shizuo ripped that sign out of the ground, Kida has been struggling as hard as he can to make himself run away. And while he doesn’t manage to actually run, all that trying does end up causing him to trip over his own feet. Meaning he falls on his ass right before Shizuo hits a home run that sign smashes him down the street and probably into that billboard atop the roof of one of the buildings there.

He doesn’t get away scot-free though; Shizuo’s sign happens to clip another sign, which promptly falls sideways and catches the side of Kida’s head, knocking him back onto his ass when he scrambles to his feet and tries (again) to run for it.

But worst of all--]

[Kida doesn’t even TRY to fight it. He’s a little dizzy still, and he knows any escape attempt would likely be a lost cause anyway, so he just lets himself get picked up and dangles limply in Shizuo’s grasp.

Buuuut. He does kinda-sorta-maybe get a little bit of a break, because he manages to get out the words he actually wants to get out for once, semi-choked and almost a little bit angry because WHAT THE HELL HOW WHY as they are.]

It’s not what I'm trying to say! It’s like someone else is making me say it, and I can’t stop it! So--

[Okay he’s having a little trouble breathing now, so his hands reflexively settle on Shizuo’s wrist...then one starts to slide up his forearm juuuust slightly, lightly brushing the material of that bartender uniform.]

Having none of that shit. He grits his teeth and yanks Kida's hand off his arm. Though it may have been a little too forceful he's not about to apologize for any broken fingers especially since the next thing he does is toss his punk ass across the street]

[Broken fingers pale in importance next to being bodily hurled through the air by Shizuo into who-knows-what. Lucky for Kida, in this case it's a billboard rather than a brick wall, but it still knocks the wind out of him, and he's probably got a broken (or at least bruised) rib or three.

......BUT unfortunately for ALL involved but ESPECIALLY for Kida lolol

it still didn't solve whatever this problem is

because the first thing he manages to wheeze out once he has some of his breath back is]
